Little Learner’s Preschool
West Horndon
Learning Begins With Us
Here at Little Learners Preschool we believe children learn best when they are happy and safe. We scaffold our learning exposing children to real life experiences to deepen their knowledge and understanding to help them better understand the world around them for future learning.
Our curriculum is designed to nurture independence, resilience, and self-regulation. These foundational skills help children grow into confident, curious learners ready for school life.
We respond to each child’s individual needs and use early intervention strategies to close learning gaps. Our approach is inclusive, supportive, and tailored to ensure every child flourishes.
We strive to ensure every child:
- Knows More
- Understands More
- Remembers More
We aim to develop children who are:
- Ready to learn: Confident, positive, and emotionally prepared.
- Resourceful: Independent and curious thinkers.
- Reflective: Open to learning from mistakes and describing their own progress.
- Resilient: Persistent in the face of challenges.
- Reciprocal: Collaborative and helpful with peers and adults.
Through rich, play-based experiences, our curriculum integrates all seven areas of learning both indoors and outdoors. We work closely with families and use Blossom Education to keep you updated and involved in your child’s journey.
Many of our children will have already begun their journey through the Foundation Stage when they join us, and we find out about and recognise their previous learning and the experiences they’ve had at home. We take time to discuss with families and find out about our children during our settling in sessions because we know that good parental links are instrumental to success in the early years. We maintain good channels of communication with parents using the online tool ‘Blossom Educational’ and operate a friendly and welcoming open-door policy.
Our curriculum is rich in cultural capital with carefully planned fun and playful learning experience which intertwines all seven areas of learning, both indoors and outdoors.
The experiences we provide our children are exciting, ambitious, broaden their experiences of the world around them and are designed in a sequential way to ensure progress towards the end of reception goals (ELG’s). We understand that children’s early learning is the root of their future success and have considered carefully how to best prepare them for when they leave the Early Years Foundation Stage. Here at Little Learners, we believe it is important to deeply know each and every individual child, By having a deeper understanding of their abilities and interests ensuring that we understand and know children’s interests, means that we can adjust and adapt our learning environment that helps engage children to learn and develop.
